Zoomking’s Waveguide Air Vents havewelded aluminum honeycomb as core and aluminum plates on both sides Betweenaluminum honeycombs and plate there are welding connections in this metalstructure, without any non-metallic material, for example, glue. Due to100% consistency of the solder fusion process, the electric field, plane wave,and microwave shielding effectiveness of the aluminum honeycomb is virtuallyidentical, aluminum simultaneously provides low-end magnetic field & electric field shielding effectiveness.

Typical Mounting Methods

Since the vent-to-shield seal is normally the limiting factor inshielding performance, the following waveguide-to-shield seals are recommended.

Welding

If the shielding material in the walls and ceilings is steel, could provide aluminum-Steel plate for connection.The preferred installation method is to usea skip welding technique around the frame until the weld line is completelyclosed.

GasketSeals

Where soldering and welding are not practical, RF gasket seals can be used.

Minimum Resistance toAir Flow

The honeycomb (or hex-tube) design combines the highest shielding performance with the lowest resistance to air flow.   Cell geometryallows the maximum amount of open space while uniformity and depth of thehoneycomb tubes reduces air turbulence.
